The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) was founded in 1855 and is conveniently located in Zürich city center. More than 17,000 students from over 100 different countries are currently enrolled at ETHZ, 3,800 of whom are doctoral students.

The symposium will be held in the historic main building of ETHZ, talks and the public lecture in the Auditorium Maximum, Room 30, Floor F, and poster sessions in the aula outside the auditorium.

Getting to ETH from the Zurich Main Station

By train, it takes only 10 minutes to reach the city center from Zürich Airport. All trains depart from Zürich Flughafen (Zürich Airport) station and arrive at Zürich Hauptbahnhof (Zürich Main Station, sometimes indicated as Zürich HB).

A one-way train ride from the airport to Zürich HB costs 6.60 Swiss Francs (CHF). Trains depart every 15 minutes. View the train timetable here.

ETH Zurich is at 1 km walk (uphill) from Zürich HB. It can be reached by tram (Nr 6, 10 or 3) using a ticket valid for zone 110 (city of Zurich)

From “Bahnhofstrasse/HB” stop: Tram Nr 6 (towards  Zoo) to “ETH/Universitätsspital” stop. Approx. 6 minutes

From “Bahnhofplatz/HB” stop: Tram Nr 10 (towards  Airport or Oerlikon station) to “ETH/Universitätsspital” stop. Tram Nr 3 (towards Klusplatz) to “Central” stop (1 stop) then Polybahn (cable car) from “Central” to Polyterrasse. Approx. 8 minutes, departs every 3 minutes

A taxi ride from the airport to ETH Zürich takes 20 to 30 minutes and costs about 50 CHF.
